Bicol Express Goodness

After we shopped for some oriental goodies, I made us a pan of  bicol express. I altered it my normal way of cooking it by adding some pineapple chunks.  I thought that hubby won't like it but I was surprised that he did!  He even liked it more than the normal way of preparing it.
If you want to try to make one, just check out the recipe here and add some pineapple.

Just remember....

that a little bit of this
and a little dash of that
makes a sumptuous life...

  11. The bits of red give the dish a lovely look, the addition of pineapple to the shrimp paste, hot peppers and pork sounds divine - a sweet/hot blend that tastes as good as it looks I would imagine!

  15. I am not familiar with this dish. So I had to ask my husband about it. He lived in your homeland for seven years when in the navy.

We decided to give your recipe a try and see if it is what he remembers.

    Happy Ruby Tuesday

  17. That sounds and looks delicious! Could you add shrimp instead of pork? I love seafood better than pork or beef.

My mouth is watering now. :-)

  18. Hi Pagan Sphinx, I think you can also add shrimp. This one is a combination of shrimp paste and pork.
