Bitter Melon with Dried Shrimp #A Spice A Day#28

Sometimes when I get homesick and I am missing my family,  I turn to   food as my comfort.  Not the food here but  the food that I used to eat when I was still there.  That's when I cook foods that I miss, the food that reminds me of my family, the food that I can eat and fill that longing that I have for them.
I sometimes see this dried baby shrimps at an Asian store so I buy it and just  stock them in my  storage that way when I am craving for some native food, I cook.  I cook some bitter melon in coconut milk, lemon grass, hot peppers, onions, and the dried shrimp.  Do you  do what I do when getting homesick?

  • The school is still closed due to 10 below freezing temperature that we have.
  • I made chicken adobo for dinner.
  • Despite the  freezing weather, my husband took our son to his gym;nastic class.  Me and daughter did not go because I was in pain (menstrual cramp).  After getting better  from the cold, now I have the  Lady Red sickness, sigh.

  1. I love all food though I change my mind often to what I crave, It varies from country to country, though maybe on of my favourites is the Spanish dish Paella which I have not made for a while, time to cook it I think. Have a good day Diane
