Berries Mixed Smoothie

Whenever we find  good deals on fruit, we  don't shy away from buying it because the kids love  fruits and I also love making smoothie.   They are healthy and delicious!
Just look at this one, very refreshing and delicious!
It's  very pricey even at walmart but these ones we found at the strip district in Pittsburgh.  They were sold very cheap there.
So glad we bought a lot! Who wouldn't want a glass of smoothie? Shadow Shots

Honey Dew Melon

One of my favorite melons is the honey dew.  It's sweet and  it's very refreshing.  It's good to eat by itself or you can make a really good  shake out of it.
I love when you cut it in half and the seeds are formed into three beautiful  sections.
I have been trying to grow  honey dew melon in my garden but i have never succeeded in having fruits out of it.
My children loves  eating this for snacks.  Fruits are a little pricey but it is the   a healthy choice for children's snack.  My kids are used to eating fruits since they were  toddlers so  I never had any  problem letting them eat fruits.

Lots of Fruits

I love  going to the Strip District in Pittsburgh because there is one place there where you can buy fresh fruits and other produce for  affordable prices.  We bought a bunch of fruits when we were there in August because they were like $1 a box.  Berries at the store are expensive so  when we get an opportunity like this, we make sure to take it.
Since most of these berries were over ripe already, I made a compote  out of it and now I am using them when I make pancakes.

Snacking Reinvented by Graze

I love snacking on fruits and nuts.  I preferred them over  sweets (cookies, cakes, or chocolate bars).   I was excited  when Graze let me try their Nibble Box in exchange for a review.  I love Graze's Snacking Reinvented style of putting together great and healthy snack.  The portion for every  pack is just enough to satisfy your craving and fill your tummy.
The Nibble Box above was my first box which contains sour cream and onion cashews.  It also has the British barbecue with  basil baguettes, rosemary crostini, and smoked almonds and seeds.  My daughter like the Toffee Apple.  The key lime pie consists of  lime raisins, mini meringues, sponge pieces and green raisins.
The next box that I received was themed for the 4th of July, I love that they designed the top of the box the American Flag.  It has My Thai with sweet chili and soy bites.  The Nature's Immunity Nuts is my favorite, it has brazil, cashew, and pistachio nuts.  I also love this small bite sized summer berry flapjack with rustic rolled oatsflapjack with berry infused cranberries.  The garden of England has mini strawberries, apple and black currants.

So how does Graze Box works.  This is a box subscription that you can choose deliveries  by weekly or monthly or whatever period you want your snacks delivered. When I  created my account, I did not pay attention  to the period of deliveries so I got two boxes in two weeks but it's all good.  Each Nibble Box  cost $6.  The first box was free for me to try and then the second box, well, it was free too because I  cancelled my deliveries and they are so kind enough to ship it for free.  There are also a bigger package that you can choose for a different price so if you are like me who love to snack on  fruits and nuts, I highly recommend Graze, they are healthy and  so good!!!  Thanks a lot Graze!!

Fruits for Snack

Fruits is the usual snack at home.  We seldom buy chips or cookies  because we want to stay healthy.  During summer time, we make sure to buy as much fruits as we can because it really  gives us healthy  snack to munch on.  Each of us have favorite fruits  but we can eat pretty much everything.  EJ love strawberries and oranges, Rylie  love apples and  cantaloupe, I like pretty much everything but my favorite is mango, and my husband love kiwi, grapes, and pears.

Papaya and Pomelo 365/300

Another popular fruit in the Philippines is the Papaya and the Pomelo.  These photos were taken at Epcot Development Center in Disney World.
I love both of these fruits.

  • Changed costume after church and went to School Gym for another function.
  • Then we  went to Dad's, visited a little bit and  went to the funeral house.  We went  back to Dad's after the showing at the funeral home and just came home.  The kids were exhausted and now in bed.
  • We will be waking up early tomorrow for Dave's funeral.
Thanks  so much for your prayers and comforting words.

Pomelo

We found some pomelo at walmart last week and I grabbed a couple since I miss this fruit.  It cost 2.65 each  but it's worth the try.  It wasn't the taste that I I was expecting though.
My maternal grandparents used to have   pomelo and jack fruit trees in their yard and we are always eating ripe ones whenever we were visiting but when they died, the trees died too.

Grape Fruit Meets Pooh - Project 365 # 28

It's been a while since I last ate a good pomelo fruit so when I saw the grape fruit at the store, I grabbed two of them.  Hubby said "Grape Fruit?"  I said, I never had this fruit so I want to try it.  Hubby said "Goodluck" lol.
Now I know why he said good luck..It's freaking sour wahhhh..  But it's worth the try, I ate it anyway.. with sugar lol. It says that  grape fruit  helps you lose weight but how will it help if you'll eat it with sugar lol.
Oh I did some  thinking on how I will put the grpe fruit to look like pooh is trying to get it lol.

January 28, 2011:
  • Ms. Burrito's classes was delayed for two hours so I had to walk her to school.  I was extra careful  because the side walks are a little slippery because of the ice.  I don't want to bust my kister  and people will see me lol.
  • I have four online tasks to finish today.  I still can't figure out what am I going to cook for lunch.  Any suggestion.

Fresh Fruits - Project 365 # 3

In the country where I came from, fruits  is a  common thing in the dining or kitchen  table.  When I came here in the States, I see lots of cookies, cakes and other sweets but rarely see fruits.  Hubby and I make sure to have fruits in the table so that the kids   can eat fruits 9instead of sweets when they want a snack or something to munch  on while watching TV.

January 3, 2011:
  • Ms. Burrito went back to school today, she was excited to go back but she's not loving the  waking up early and getting out in the cold.
  • Hubby and I, with the help of Mr. Burrito cleaned the car for inspection.
  • Hubby took the car for inspection and got the sticker for it.
  • He went to  help Jim fixing the house.
  • We have Bumble Bee today for an hour (3-4 pm).  I felt bad because she was in agony from the vaccine shots that she received today.
  • I gave Champ a bath while doing the laundry.
  • We received the package... magic sing karaoke mic that hubby bought on eBay.
