Champagne Mangoes - P365 # 210

We found boxes of champagne mangoes at the Oriental store down in Pittsburgh last time so we bought a box. We all love mangoes with the exception of my son.  This is what I really miss during summer time in the Philippines because they are in season, hence they are cheap.  Over here, you pay almost $2  for a piece mango.
I made some  mango shake.
I also made some refrigerated cake.
July 31, 2011:
  • I did  four loads of laundry today, folded and put away already.
  • Cooked some pinakbet again and grilled pork BBQ for hubby.  I also made some wilted lettuce.
  • We went  and visited  my FIL after I did laundry and after we ate our dinner.
Today is the 8th year death anniversary of my father.  I am sad that  he isn't here anymore to  see his other grand kids.  I am also saddened by  a death in the family of the  friends we met in Florida.  Our condolences to the Dias Family.  Dhemz lost her  Lolo or grandfather last Friday night.

Cobbler - P365 # 182

My SIL Chris made this yummy cobbler from the black raspberries that she picked from her garden. It tasted soooo good.
I sure   got one slice as I love raspberries.
  • I actually was the first one to saple it lol.

July 3, 2011:

  • Oh Mama Mary, it's past twelve already and here I am still typing (talking about blog addict lol).
  • My body is begging me to go to bed though, so I am now off to bed after this  one.
  • We were out the whole day today, we attended a party at my BIL Rick's house.
  • I did a little gardening when we came home because I got a  butterfly bush from  Rick and Jill, thanks guys!

Baby Milkfish - P365 # 168

I am not fond of the whole milkfish but I like buying this marinated baby milkfish.
It's boneless so  even my daughter, Ms. Burrito likes to eat it with me.
I  always fry it and eat it with  salsa and rice.
If you have a  Chicago steak seasoning, you can sprinkle it before you fry it, it's so yummy!
June 19, 2011:

  • Another busy day for us.   After I cooked breakfast, I busied myself making some lumpia or egg rolls.
  • By the time, I am done with it, it's time for us to prepare and go to church.
  • We went straight to my FIL after church and cook dinner there.  I  BBQ'd  some  country style  boneless ribs,  made some egg noodles, fried some of the lumpia I made earlier, cut up some fresh veggie salad, then hubby made  some mashed potatoes.  He also made Dad a pan of   Fudge.  Will show you the pics next time.
  • Our last trip was the mall, we   gave   Daddy a little shopping spree.
How about you, how did you celebrate Father's Day?

May 30, 2011:
  • Yesterday was a very busy day for us.  We went to Raccoon Park in the morning till 3.  We hiked first when we arrived then we let the kids swim in the   creek.  We drove straight to Dad's and the other family was there so the kids stayed.  Hubby and I drove to New Cumberland to get the  computer desk that my BIL has given us.  Thanks Rick and Jill!
  • Jill also gave me a bunch of flowers so when we came home, I did some gardening in front of our house till 10 in the evening.  I had a very good exercises yesterday.
  • We will be attending a memorial service here in the area at 11 so we will be out again.
  • I appreciate all your visit and comments.  I'll make it up soon!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Hearty Egg - P365 # 133

I was bummed out when I broke the egg yoke as I cracked it open in the pan. But when the egg yoke started spreading out, it formed into a heart weee.   Isn't that a heart?
May 15, 2011:
  • I wasn't able to  update this blog this morning.  I have a cramp so I sleep a little longer this morning and  wasn't  blog as much as I want.
  • I was going to wash some clothes today but  the lazy bug  is in me besides we just got back from Dad's so I'll do it tomorrow.
  • Sometimes when I am cooking, I miss the old style  where you use firewood to cook.  The taste of food  is different than cooking in  gas or electric  stove.  It's not even close to wood burning stoves that you can find.  My family still uses the same  style in cooking.  My mother used to tell me when I was living in a an apartment and using gas to cook, she said the  taste of the food is not as good as the one that s cook using firewood.  Sorry folks, I am a little nostalgic today.. hormone is changing  due to my PMS lol.
  • It's raining again and it says on the weather channel that another  storm is coming.  Part of  pour town  was flooded  a couple of days ago.  I feel bad for those  people whose house were  soaked with the flood.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Lazy Days Means Pizza Days - P365 # 93

Whenever I am not in the mood to cook, we would end up having pizza for dinner.
We always order the specials at Domino's which is $5.99 each medium heavy topping pizza if you buy two.
Hubby and I always get the ham and pineapple with a heavy hot peppers in it.
We get the kids the peperoni and black olives.
Then just cuddling up with each other after we ate and watch TV.
Mr. Burrito doesn't want to be photographed so he isn't included in here hehehe. He was the one taking the photos.
April 3, 2011:
  • Hubby made breakfast (thanks again hon!)
  • We are going to church at noon and visit my FIL after the mass.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Bulalo Supreme - P365 # 87

When I was still in the Philippines, I used to have a stack of these in the kitchen cabinet of my apartment. Whenever I am lazy to cook, I just make one of this.  I even served it to hubby when he first  came over to see me lol.
He saw this at the oriental store so he grabbed one.
He said he couldn't remember where he  ate one of these and I just smiled lol.
Anyhow, I cooked it the other day as the lazy bug in me attacked.
I added fresh napa cabbage and scallions   in it and it was delish!
March 28, 2011:

  • Ms.  Burrito's school has a State test today so she went to bed early to have a lot of rest before the test.  Good luck to all the students, to you Ms. Burrito, and to the school.
  • It is is below freezing over here (24 degrees brrr).  Hope the temperature will warm up  before I get Ms. Burrito so we wont freeze our butts off hehehe.
  • Please include my brother-in-law- Dave in your prayer friends,  the doctor has detected  something in his system that looks like a tumor (I am praying that it isn't).
